Dr. Kitchin, raised on a Dairy Farm in North Carolina quit his career in medicine to skate San Diego's Pacific Beach. People know him as 'Slomo and his mantra is to do what you want- and what does he want to do? Skate in slow motion up and down the boardwalk! I know this sounds crazy to most of us who live in the constraints society places on us- you know the one- I have talked about it before, growing up, picking a career, having the picket fence life, retire and die... but isn't there more to life then that? Have you really taken the time to figure out what you want in this life? What you really want to do? Who you want to be? Have you figured out what is going to make you feel connected, inspired, happy? Or are you just continuing down the path working yourself to death and simply being an asshole living in this materialistic world. Slomo couldn't have put it better for me-, "I'm trying to get to the end of my life without becoming an asshole again" - how more honest can you be? Some 15 years ago he was living that boxed life and was unhappy- so he did something about it- he broke free. Although to most people who have seen this guy skate back and forth down the boardwalk have assumed he is crazy-Not every "crazy" you see is crazy- Dr. Kitchin is proof to that. If he can break free of the chains and rediscover himself- it means it is possible- shall we give it a go?
