(Body paint and stamp ourselves on to the walls and floor in a variety of colors ...sounds awesome to me, but Dad said that wouldn't be "welcoming" and we would "skip that".. oh well, it was worth a shot)
The process for renting the place was interesting. It is amazing how people will make you think they are interested, and then never email you back. Or one person, I had a full on conversation with, I thought she was nice enough to be a friend (not that being friends was the goal) and then after some emails went back and forth...... NOTHING. I find that rude. Whatever happened to, "I am not interested but thank you for taking the time to work with me and even show me your place". People just have no manners. We have advertised it on craigslist for just about a week or so and showed it just a couple of times. Some people email you, you respond, and then you don't hear back at all. Another girl posted an add on the belmont website and stated, "Me and two roommates are looking for a place to live next semester. We would like to have our own rooms and the max we would probably like to pay for each person would be $800/month. Please let me know!" when I wrote her, and told her about my awesome 3 bedroom townhouse for rent she responded that "The add must have been misinterpreted because I don't need a house." Well, my friend Courtney found this advertisement that was JUST posted, and she is graduating law school, I am a pretty smart interpreter with a M.ED and between the two of us we just don't see any where in her post that she didn't want a house. So misinterpreted? I think not. At the end of the day, Courtney and I decided that the girl needs to learn how to write a better add. :)
However, there is a plan for everything, right? I like to think so. A really nice family is moving in. I actually hope that I will be able to get some of my friends here, to welcome them to the area. I think they would really enjoy getting to know some of my Nashville Family and I think you would enjoy them as well.
I also want to make this family a little welcome book to the city. So let me know your favorite place to eat and activity that the city has to offer and I am going to put a little something together for them.
I will be officially moving out in May. I know I am not leaving until September.. BUT a girl has to save some money right? My parents are letting me move back home. OH the kid who keeps coming back home!! I guess it is a good thing that it typically is during a time of transition :) It will be a good couple months.. I mean, I am about to move far far away, I don't want to take the time with family for granted.
Alright, all- back to work! Have a great day!
