Also- Happy Birthday, Mom... I know that me having this jacket to stay warm will give you some peace of mind while I am away. Totally bought myself a gift on your birthday. XOXO
Over the last several months I have been shopping.. yes.. shopping for the big move. I will be the most well dressed person that I have ever been in my life. As most of you know, shopping is not my favorite thing to do. I have taken more of a liking to it after my friend Courtney introduced me to "retail therapy." Yet, even then, it is not my comfort zone. I am much more of a hunter than a gatherer. I want to find what I need and get out. However, with big boobs, a little waist, larger rib cage, no butt, short legs.... shopping is not always the easiest and you can't just get in and get out. I used to think shoe shopping was the easiest but over the last couple months that has even sucked!. Today I came to downtown Franklin to do some work on this project that I am working on and decided to go into Bink Outfitters. Usually, downtown Franklin is NOT the place to go shopping for such items, however they were having a sale. Anyone who knows me knows that I like sales and clearance racks... I mean, really, who wants to pay full price for something? After trying on a few coats a nice guy said hey do you need help. Normally, I would say no and be on my way ( As what do these people actually know about what should fit and what should not fit. Don't they just want to make a sale?) , however, I decided to say.. well yes.. actually I do (please take note I have looked at jackets all winter looking for a new one). I told him the brief plans for the move and we went on a mission.. find me a coat. He actually explained how much down was in each coat and how to tell (who would have thunk those numbers had a purpose). After we found a coat that I liked, he asked, "are you sure you want the hood?" Not only was not having the hood going to save me money, I already have the rain coat, and warm hats, and scarfs, so yea... why would I need the hood (once I get there I may think.. yes.. shoot.. i should have bought the one with the hood) ? This total stranger (talk about customer service), set out to call every store around to see if they had the one jacket in my size without the hood. No such luck. The manager wasn't going to let us get the size from the big company for the same discount.. boo. I mean if she had said yes , maybe I would want to come back even more often (she said, NO! in a bit of a snappy not so customer service way). So back to shopping.. I ended up finding a perfect Jacket- looked like a total dork as I moved my arms around and made sure that it fit good. Check this out, because of the huge sale I saved over 200 bucks on a jacket and a bunch of base layers- Good sale! You may be laughing that I actually am posting a blog on this but its a big deal. I have had the same puffy down coat that my mom found at Costco for like 8 years. Did you read that? COSTCO! 8 years. Jackets are expensive and I have never had a real purpose to get a new one. Look at me.. finding something important enough for me to break down and buy a jacket. A little splurge on myself.. taking care of me. I am very thankful to the nice guy who took time out of his morning to help me find a jacket to save me some of the typical shopping frustration. If you are out there nice guy at Binks, you deserve a pay raise and if you are in the UK, you let me know and I will return the favor of kindness (you might need to give me sometime to learn the city or I may not be of any help). Also- Happy Birthday, Mom... I know that me having this jacket to stay warm will give you some peace of mind while I am away. Totally bought myself a gift on your birthday. XOXO
