I am just a month shy of entering my third year of this PhD. I am on track and looking forward to its completion. Not in the sense that it will be over and I get to go home, but in the sense that this is a huge undertaking and I am looking forward to dabbling in other projects and doing more things..especially with my new job. Did you catch that? New job?? I am thrilled to announce that I have been offered and officially accepted a position at Heriot-Watt University as the new Assistant Professor in Sign Language Studies. I will transition my PhD to part-time, but I am determined to get it finished within the same amount of time that I had planned (maybe just a month or two off to be realistic). I believe that with a little hard work I can do it. I am so thankful for all of the people who have supported me through the years. I know that my achievements are not from my own doing alone, but much credit is due to the people who have helped me and cheered me on along the way. I am also thankful to Heriot-Watt University for giving me the opportunity of a lifetime to first study and now study and work along side such amazing scholars! So lets toast some bubbles to new adventures! x
